Sean Kulan, Consumer Credit Sector Lead, said: “Vulnerable customers are often disproportionately affected by high-cost business models, and continued prioritisation from the FCA to support customers in vulnerable circumstances within the sector is welcomed. Tighter regulation will only go so far however, with firms now needing to embed a cultural change which ensures fair outcomes for all customers. Providers will need to continue to assess their front and back office practices to ensure vulnerable customers are identified as early as possible and tailored treatments are applied.”
