CSA wins Excellence in Training Award for String of Learning and Development Achievements

The Credit Services Association (CSA), the voice of the UK debt collection and debt purchase sectors, has won the Excellence in Training Award at the 2019 Collections and Customer Service Awards.

The Association was recognised for a string of achievements over the last 12 months, most notably the development of a new learning programme for five new niche apprenticeship standards for Financial Services and Regulatory Compliance, including standards that specifically address the needs of the debt collection/debt purchase industry.

It was also recognised for the work it has done in extending its role as a Registered Approved Apprenticeship Training Provider into new markets, providing collections and compliance and risk apprenticeships to the wider financial services community as well as government and the public sector.

Fiona Macaskill, the CSA’s Head of Learning and Development, is delighted with the award: “The award recognises the CSA’s growing reputation as the ‘go to’ training provider in Compliance and Risk and Credit Control and Collections,” she says.

“The Association has also developed strong partnerships with a range of Professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, the International Compliance Association, and The Chartered Trading Standards Institute, thus further demonstrating how it is developing skills within its own industry and beyond.”

The CSA’s L&D team overhauled the Association’s learning and development offering, revamping and revising its Level 3 Diploma. More than 500 learners have now completed their qualifications. It also revised the CSA’s benchmark individual qualification – the Collector Accreditation Initiative (CAI) – with a new bank of questions that continue to be updated to ensure they are relevant to constantly changing regulation. There are now more than 6,000 registered users across just over 100 member companies
