Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Jim Davis as Managing Director for Export Finance as it looks to further grow its support for businesses trading internationally.
Joining BFS from Yorkshire Bank in 2011, Jim held the role of Head of Sales for the West Midlands since 2013 and was instrumental in the opening of BFS’s West Midlands Business Centre in 2014.
With more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, Jim has held a variety of commercial finance roles at HSBC and Yorkshire Bank, where he specialised in asset based lending and invoice finance.
Speaking of his appointment, Jim said: “While exporting presents fantastic opportunities for businesses to grow, international trade brings with it challenges relating to extended payment terms and complexities surrounding selling goods overseas.
“Our Export Finance team help SMEs to overcome these challenges, providing certainty of payment, upfront payment against overseas invoices and access to a team of export specialists.
“With the UK’s departure from the EU on the horizon, more than ever, SMEs need expert support. In addition to providing valuable support for existing exporters, we want to be able to help those businesses new to international trade to uncover growth opportunities overseas. I look forward to supporting the growth of thousands of UK SMEs in my new role.”
Kash Ahmad, Head of Specialist Products at BFS, commented: “As a Sunday Times Best Companies employer, we’re proud of recognising and retaining the talent we have within our business.
“Throughout his time with BFS, Jim has put both clients and colleagues at the heart of his leadership, and this has led to fantastic results, time and time again. I’m fully confident that Jim will continue this trend in his new role, helping to further enhance the support we provide to SMEs trading overseas.”
With over 40 operations in 14 countries spanning Europe, North America and Asia, BFS provides FX services and specialist trade, asset and working capital funding, helping businesses to grow in domestic and international markets.
